Selling Side Effects - Big Pharma's Marketing Machine

Convincing people they are sick and need a drug is a multi-billion dollar industry. In 2015, Big Pharma dropped a record-breaking $5.4 billion on direct-to-consumer (DTC) ads, according to Kantar Media. And it paid off for Big Pharma. The same year, Americans spent a record $457 billion on prescription drugs. The U.S. and New Zealand are the only countries where DTC is legal. Americans also pay more for drugs and devices than any other country.

New Black Box Warnings Spur Lawsuits

Lawsuits may be emerging soon after the FDA issued a Black Box Warning for 9 direct acting antiviral (DAA) medications this October 2016. Patients who have taken DAA medications and seen a reemergence of their Hepatitis B, experienced liver damage, or suffered liver failure, may be eligible to file a lawsuit against the drug manufacturers. According to the FDA, this reactivation usually occurred within 4-8 weeks of receiving DAA treatment drugs. During clinical trials, this potentially deadly side effect was not discovered because researchers only recruited patient with Hepatitis C and no co-infections.

Double Standards of Scientific Evidence within the Medical Police State

Get the Facts, Not the Flu Shot

(NaturalNews) I find it very telling that in a nation where almost half the adult population is overweight or obese, U.S. Senators would waste time unleashing an Orwellian "thought crimes" attack against Doctor Oz over his advocacy of natural weight loss supplements. Apparently, the idea that a national health TV personality might actually seek to help the American people get healthier with supplements, not drugs, is simply intolerable in the U.S. capitol.

Telomeres and Milk Thistle

Milk thistle, also known as the plant Silybum marianum, is one of the best for clearing toxins from your blood and GI tract and helps restore liver function. Many ailments are related to toxin build-up. These toxins amass over time. This further ages your body. I have been able to document its capacity to heal damaged livers by measuring serum liver enzymes. There are no regular food sources for this herb. Look for dried extract with a minimum of 80% silymarin, the active ingredient for liver cleansing, and as we now know, maintaining your telomere length.

The Therapeutic Effects of Acetyl-L-Carnitine on Peripheral Neuropathy: A Review of the Literature

Peripheral neuropathy is nerve conduction disruption that occurs outside of the central nervous system. It usually presents with sensory derangements, the most debilitating of which is pain in the extremities. Conventional therapies have limited success in preventing or reversing symptoms of neuropathic pain and numbness. In the past decade there has been a surge in publications suggesting acetyl-L-carnitine (ALC) may be an effective neuroprotectant and antinociceptive for peripheral neuropathy. This review highlights the uses, doses, and proposed mechanisms of action for the therapeutic effects of ALC in patients with peripheral neuropathy.
